The Spiced Pear Kava Mocktail is the Coziest Wind-Down Drink)

Some mocktails are made for parties. This one is made for fuzzy socks, a blanket, and finally sitting down after a very long day.

This Spiced Pear Kava Mocktail has all the flavors I want once the weather turns cold: juicy pear, warm maple, spicy ginger, and just a pinch of cinnamon. Kava Haven gives it a more grown-up, spirit-like base, while ginger ale adds enough bubbles to keep the whole thing light and easy to sip.

I especially love this one during the holidays, when my mental to-do list seems to get longer by the minute. Pour it over one big ice cube, add a pretty pear garnish and star anise, and suddenly your evening feels a little more intentional.

And yes, you can shake it. But on nights when even getting out the cocktail shaker feels ambitious? Stir it right in the glass. I fully support the shortcut.

Why You'll Love The Spiced Pear Kava Mocktail

Pear doesn’t get nearly enough attention in mocktails, especially once fall rolls around. It’s naturally sweet and mellow, which makes it perfect with warming flavors like cinnamon, maple, and ginger.

This recipe is also incredibly easy. There are no complicated syrups to make and no obscure ingredients beyond the Kava Haven. The whole thing comes together in about five minutes, but the pear slice and star anise make it look much fancier than the effort involved.

It’s basically fall and winter in a glass.

  • ¼ oz pure maple syrup

  • A thin pear slice is the perfect fall addition

Tips for Making the Best Spiced Pear Kava Mocktail

Choose a Good Pear Juice

Because pear is the main flavor here, this is the place to use a pear juice or nectar you actually like drinking on its own. If you’re using a thicker pear nectar, you may want to start with a little less maple syrup and adjust from there.

Don’t Overdo the Maple

A quarter-ounce doesn’t sound like much, but pear juice already brings plenty of natural sweetness. The maple should add warmth and depth without turning this into a dessert drink. Taste before adding more. You can always make it sweeter; taking maple syrup back out is considerably trickier.

Make the Garnish Extra Pretty

For the holidays, use a small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut a star from a thin slice of pear. Pair it with whole star anise and you’ve got a mocktail that looks extremely festive with very little actual work.

Easy Variations

Want a little more spice? Add an extra pinch of cinnamon or a tiny pinch of ground nutmeg.

For a stronger ginger flavor, use a spicy ginger beer instead of ginger ale. You can also add a squeeze of fresh lemon if you prefer your mocktails on the brighter, more tart side.

If you’re making this for someone who doesn’t want kava, simply leave it out and add a little extra pear juice and ginger ale.
